A creative therapist – one size does not fit all

Michael avoids a ‘one size fits all’ attitude and tends to draw on a range of approaches including Trauma-Informed Practice; Systemic, Narrative, Attachment based therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Emotional Coaching; Non-violent Resistance Parenting; Mindfulness and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Ultimately his priority is to do what works for his client. Michael’s approach is respectful, action orientated, resource focused, collaborative and sometimes a little unorthodox. He is creative, curious, intuitive and adaptable. He talks with people in ways that makes sense to them.

Trauma and mental health specialist

Michael has a passion for helping children, young people and their parents/carers on aspects of their lived experiences and relationships that other therapists are often less prepared or trained to engage with. Michael is trained in a range of trauma informed approaches for adults and children which can quickly help people resolve memories of disturbing events that fuel PTSD, anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity and patterns of escalating conflict.
